SACRAMENTO / SOLAR DIAGNOSTICS AND SUPPORT

Solar system repair and troubleshooting in Sacramento.

A blank app, a fault message and a higher electric bill can point to different problems. Menderix helps diagnose existing solar and battery systems, including installations by other companies. We review the symptoms and equipment before recommending a repair, replacement or monitoring fix.

START WITH WHAT CHANGED

The symptom helps narrow the first check.

Tell us what you noticed and when it began. A recent internet change, outage or roof project can be as useful as the fault message itself.

The app has stopped updating

The system may have lost its monitoring connection while still producing power. Account access, internet changes and communication equipment need review before assuming a production failure.

Production has fallen

Compare similar seasons and weather, then look for a persistent change. Shade, soiling, equipment faults or part of the array being offline can have different remedies.

The inverter reports a fault

Record the exact message and equipment model if visible without opening anything. Different faults require different checks; a code alone does not always identify which part has failed.

The utility bill has increased

Higher usage, a rate change or a billing-period difference may contribute alongside solar performance. Review consumption and production together before attributing the change to the array.

DIAGNOSIS BEFORE REPLACEMENT

Work from the evidence, not the most expensive part.

We review the equipment information alongside your symptoms and any available production history. The next checks depend on what that review shows. Electrical testing, inspection or manufacturer support may be needed to identify the cause.

A monitoring issue should not be treated as a failed inverter without evidence. Likewise, replacing a visibly aging component may not resolve a separate wiring or system problem. We discuss the findings and repair scope before moving to proposed replacement work.

TWO DIFFERENT QUESTIONS

Is the system producing, and is it reporting?

Monitoring tells you what the system is reporting. It can stop reporting even while the panels are producing. When production actually falls, an app can also show only part of the reason.

Share the date of the last normal reading and any changes to the router, account or equipment. Screenshots can help establish a pattern. Where access is restricted to a previous installer or provider, restoring owner access may require their involvement or the manufacturer's process.

AFTER THE CAUSE IS IDENTIFIED

The next step should match the finding.

FindingPossible next step
Monitoring or account problemAddress the connection or access issue and confirm that reporting resumes.
Repairable connection or component faultDefine the repair, required access and appropriate checks before returning the system to service.
Failed or unsupported equipmentReview replacement options, compatibility and any changes needed elsewhere in the installation.
A change in shade or site conditionsAssess how the change affects production and whether a practical site or layout adjustment is available.
Possible warranty issueAssemble equipment and fault information for the applicable manufacturer or provider process.

Warranty coverage and replacement availability depend on the equipment and its terms. Diagnosis does not guarantee approval of a claim.

HELP US PREPARE

You do not need a complete installation file to call.

Send the records you have. Avoid climbing onto the roof or removing covers to gather information.

  • Property and system details

Include the address, approximate system age and installer name if known. Tell us whether the system includes a battery.

  • Visible model information

Safely accessible exterior label photos can help identify the inverter, battery and other equipment.

  • What happened and when

Describe the fault, lost production or monitoring problem, including whether it is constant or intermittent.

  • Access and ownership

Mention a lease, provider agreement or restricted monitoring account, and any roof or electrical work recently completed.

VISIBLE DAMAGE OR IMMEDIATE DANGER

Keep clear of damaged solar equipment.

Do not open enclosures or touch damaged wiring. If there is smoke, sparking or an immediate fire danger, stay clear and call 911. For a service issue without immediate danger, call Menderix to discuss the symptoms and appointment availability.

Before you book

Getting help with an existing solar system.

Here are a few details to help you plan the work. Call us if your property or equipment needs a closer look.

Can you help if my original solar installer is no longer available?

Yes. We can review the equipment and available records and discuss a diagnostic scope. Some account access, warranty claims or proprietary components may still require manufacturer or provider involvement.

Does a blank monitoring app mean my solar has stopped working?

Not necessarily. It can indicate a reporting or communication problem. The system's production and its monitoring connection should be assessed separately before deciding what needs repair.

Should my system produce the same amount every month?

No. Sunlight, day length, weather, shade and operating conditions change through the year. Compare appropriate periods and look for a change that seasonal conditions do not reasonably explain.

Can you replace a failed solar inverter?

We can assess replacement options after identifying the fault and existing system requirements. The replacement must suit the array, electrical connection and any battery or monitoring equipment involved.

Will a repair be covered by the manufacturer's warranty?

Coverage depends on the specific warranty, age, cause of failure and claim requirements. We can discuss the information needed for a claim, but the manufacturer or responsible provider determines approval under its terms.

Can you troubleshoot a solar battery as well?

Yes. Tell us the battery and inverter models, alert messages and whether the problem occurs in daily operation or during an outage. Backup behavior also depends on the circuits and controls included in the design.
