THE STARTING POINT

A replacement and a new location are different jobs.

The fan you buy is only part of the installation. What is above the ceiling and behind the switch can change the work more than the fan’s appearance.

Replace an existing fan

We check the mounting arrangement, wiring and controls before installing the replacement. A different motor or remote system may need a change at the wall even when the new fan fits the same spot.

  • Existing support and condition
  • Compatibility with the new controls

Add a fan where there is a light

A box that holds a light fixture is not automatically suitable for a fan. We assess fan-rated support and whether the circuit and switch arrangement can serve the fan and its light.

  • Fan-rated box or support
  • Ceiling access and wiring route

Add a completely new location

This needs a route for power and a suitable place to support the fan. Attic access, ceiling framing and the room below determine how much opening and finishing the job may involve.

  • Location and clearance
  • Access above the ceiling

BEFORE YOU BUY

Choose the fan for the room it will serve.

A large fan can feel out of place in a small bedroom. A low ceiling, sloped ceiling or covered patio also changes which mounting arrangement and product rating are suitable. Send the model you are considering so we can discuss those details before installation day.

Think about how you will use the controls. Some people want a simple wall switch; others want separate fan and light control, a remote or an app. The fan’s own electronics and the existing wiring need to support that choice. An ordinary light dimmer should not be assumed to work as a fan-speed control.

REPAIR OR REPLACE

Tell us what the fan is doing.

The fan will not start

A control, receiver, connection or motor issue can look much the same from the floor. Tell us whether the light still works and whether the problem began suddenly or after another change.

It wobbles or makes noise

The mounting, blades and fan mechanism need attention. Stop using a fan with loose or damaged parts. Replacing the entire fan may be more sensible when the problem is inside an aging unit.

The light works inconsistently

Lamp compatibility, the fan’s light assembly and the control are separate possibilities. A description of flickering, dimming or complete failure helps us plan the visit.

INSTALLATION SCOPE

Agree on access and finishing before work starts.

A straightforward replacement may use the existing wiring and support. Adding a fan in a new location can also require a cable route through the ceiling. We look at access and explain any expected openings before you approve the job.

The estimate should identify the fan, support work, control changes and electrical testing. If drywall or paint work is needed, its responsibility belongs in the agreed scope. At handoff, we check operation and show you the controls that came with your fan.

YOUR ESTIMATE

What changes ceiling fan installation cost?

  • The existing setup

Reusing sound wiring and appropriate support is different from providing a new box, brace and cable route.

  • Access to the ceiling

High ceilings, stairs beneath the fan and limited attic access affect equipment and working time.

  • Controls and assembly

A new wall control, remote receiver or more involved fan assembly can add work. Include the exact model when requesting an estimate.

Let us know if several rooms need fans. We can discuss the combined scope during the same inquiry.

Before you book

Before installing your ceiling fan.

Here are a few details to help you plan the work. Call us if your property or equipment needs a closer look.

Can you install a ceiling fan I already bought?

Yes. Send the brand and model, plus a photo of the location. We will check the mounting and control requirements with the existing setup. Keep the instructions, supplied hardware and remote together for the visit.

Can you replace a light fixture with a ceiling fan?

Yes, when the location can accommodate suitable support, wiring and clearance. An existing light box may need replacement or additional support. That assessment comes before treating it as a simple fixture swap.

Does a ceiling fan need a separate circuit?

That depends on the existing circuit and the equipment. A fan does not automatically require a new dedicated circuit. We review the available wiring and circuit conditions before recommending changes.

Can you install a fan on a sloped ceiling?

The fan and mounting parts must be suitable for the slope and available clearance. Send the ceiling height, a photo and the fan model so we can identify the right installation scope.

Do you repair fans as well as replace them?

Yes. We troubleshoot the electrical supply and controls as well as the fan symptoms. If the unit needs unavailable parts or extensive internal work, we can explain the replacement option before you commit.
